On Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at approximately 1427 hours, I responded to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in reference to a theft.
Upon arrival, I spoke with [REDACTED BY AGENCY], the homeowner. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] told me that in April he contacted Jonathan Housch with Southern Deck and Construction to build him a new deck. Housch gave [REDACTED BY AGENCY] an estimate describing the work to be done and a total price. The estimate requested that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] pay 50% of the price of the work prior to them beginning the work. That amount was $14,308.51. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] sent Housch a check for the amount over the mail. The check was cashed a few days later.
Housch never provided a hard or estimated start date for the work. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] attempted to contact Housch several times over phone and text requesting a date to start. Housch would tell him he was coming on some days and never show up.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] has extremely thorough documentation of all the phone calls, text messages, emails, and paperwork. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] wanted a specific deck material called “Deckorators Decking”. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] contacted the manufacturer and asked if Housch had placed an order for materials. The manufacturer referred [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to their local sales rep. That individual told [REDACTED BY AGENCY] that he had never heard of Housch and his company was not a distributor nor had they placed an order for materials. After months of Housch not showing up to do the work or providing receipts of having purchased material, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] sent Housch a certified termination letter in the mail. Housch received the letter and signed for it. Housch never contacted [REDACTED BY AGENCY] or refunded his money.
[End of Narrative]
