On April 22, [2026], at 04:47hrs. I, D.S. McCusker, was dispatched to 745 Poplar Rd. at Piedmont Newnan Hospital for a disorderly conduct. Sgt McCrary with Piedmont Security called, advising that a female named Kalia Martin was at the hospital, refusing to leave and acting very aggressively toward staff.
Upon our arrival, Sgt G. Gorringe and I met Piedmont Security at hall bed 8. As we walked in, I could hear and see a woman in a long pink dress and a pink blanket pacing the hallway, yelling loudly. She kept saying she was in pain. Sgt G. Gorringe was talking to Kalia, asking her to walk outside and speak with us. Hospital security advised that she had been discharged and was refusing to leave.
Once outside, Sgt. G. Gorringe spoke with Kalia, who was also on the phone with her mother and half-listening to what we were saying. We asked her multiple times to have a seat or lean up against the car. She then leaned over into the backseat of the patrol vehicle.
[WITNESS #1] was the nurse caring for Kalia. She said when she arrived at work to take over care of Kalia, she had already been causing problems. She was all over the hallways, not staying out of the staff’s way. When she was asked/redirected to go back to her room/bed, she would get upset and start kicking the equipment and the walls. [WITNESS #1] needed assistance redirecting Kalia.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] was the other nurse who came over to assist and try to figure out what was going on because of all the yelling. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said she had patients close to Kalia’s room. Kalia was causing such a disturbance that it was upsetting her patients. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said Kalia was on the floor, stating she was in pain. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said she informed Kalia that they could not give her any more pain medication, and the screaming was only going to make the pain worse.
Kalia then began screaming and slamming her phone on the floor in front of [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. She said that was when the doctor came over to tell Kalia again that she was not going to get pain medication anymore. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said that is when Kalia picked up her phone and threw it at her, narrowly missing her left leg, and then hitting the wall.
I then went and spoke with Piedmont Security. I then spoke to [REDACTED BY AGENCY], who advised that she has been like this since 20:52 hours when she came in. He said that at one point, Kalia became irate when the ER doctors discharged her without giving her any more medication. He said she then began throwing chairs and trash cans, hitting the walls. He said patients were already annoyed with her. He said he walked over to her and “told her to stop throwing the chairs and have a seat.” [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said he then attempted to take the chair away, but Kalia snatched it back, causing the chair to hit him in his right leg.
I then spoke to the nursing staff again. They then informed me that this is how Kalia had acted at the other two hospitals she had been to on April 21, 2026. They advised that Kalia would get upset whenever she was told she could not have any other pain medication. They said she had been to Kennistone Hospital and Fayette Hospital. Each time, she advised that she was having stomach pain.
I asked the staff if the doctor had checked her for mental issues (possibly a 10-13), and they advised that the doctor did and that Kalia is okay and did not need a 10-13.
I asked if they wanted to press charges, and they said yes. I retrieved Official Statements from each. Kalia has also been Criminally Trespassed from Piedmont Newnan Hospital per hospital security.
Kalia is being charged with;
16-11-39 Disorderly Conduct
16-5-23 Simple Battery.
Kalia was advised she was being placed under arrest and transported to the Coweta County Detention Center without incident.
