On 3/12/2026 I Deputy McBrier responded to [1600 BLOCK] Mt. Carmel Rd in reference to a Family Dispute.

While enroute to the call 911 advised that a Kevin Yarbrough had thrown gasoline that was on fire and lit the house on fire. 911 also advised that Kevin had thrown gas on the dad and the fiance. The dad was later identified as [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and the fiance as [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

When I arrived at the house I met with [WITNESS #1] who was Kevin’s sister. [WITNESS #1] said that her brother had was going crazy and poured gas on [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [WITNESS #1] said that Kevin had pushed and punched [REDACTED BY AGENCY] when he was trying to get the gas can and bb gun from Kevin.

[WITNESS #1] also told me that Kevin had yelled and that she and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] went outside. [WITNESS #1] asked Kevin if he was okay to which Kevin replied “Leave me the fu*k alone”. [WITNESS #1] said that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] asked Kevin not to yell at [WITNESS #1] when she was just asking if he was okay.

[WITNESS #1] said that Kevin had a mason jar approximately 3/4 full and a lit cigarette. [WITNESS #1] said that Kevin dropped his cigarette on the mason jar igniting the gasoline. Kevin then threw the mason jar at [REDACTED BY AGENCY] knocked it back towards Kevin. [WITNESS #1] said that she saw fire flying and then everything caught on fire around them including the house. [WITNESS #1] said she grabbed the water hose and began putting the fire out. [WITNESS #1] then went and informed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] of what was going on.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] then walked outside and he had changed his shirt due to having gas on him. I noticed that when [REDACTED BY AGENCY] walked up he smelled very strongly of gasoline. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said he went outside to confront Kevin for burning the house. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said that when he got outside that Kevin was holding a gas can and his bb gun. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said that Kevin pointed the bb gun at him and had a gas can in his other hand. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said that he knocked the bb gun out of his hand and threw it across the yard. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said that Kevin then poured gas on him and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and was trying to light a lighter at the same time.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] said that Kevin then walked back to where he had lit the fire under the porch. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] followed him and when they arrived under the porch Kevin began to light a cigarette after pouring gas on [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and himself. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] then took the cigarette and lighter out of Kevin’s hand. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said that Kevin then went back to the trailer and grabbed a knife. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that Kevin pointed the knife at him and cussed at him until I arrived.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] said that Kevin started screaming from the back porch. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said that when himself and [WITNESS #1] checked on him that he started going crazy. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said that Kevin threw gas all over the ground and lit it. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said that Kevin started fighting with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] when he pulled a bb gun out. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said that he went inside and called the cops.

Myself and Deputy Horner searched for Kevin and found him in an enclosed trailer that he lived in on the property. I told Kevin to come out of the trailer and to have nothing in his hands. Kevin was sitting on a bed and began shoving things under the blankets. I told Kevin to come out now at which point Kevin started getting up. Kevin then walked towards myself and Deputy Horner. When Kevin was out of the trailer I told him to turn around and place his hands behind his back and placed him in handcuffs. Kevin was then taken and put in the back seat of my patrol car.

While looking around the property we found the bb gun. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said that that was the bb gun that Kevin pointed at him. I noticed that there was a red pen looking object next to the bb gun. When I picked it up I noticed that there was a brass piece with a spring on the other side of the pen. I then unscrewed it and realized that it was a mini flashlight housing and that it attached to the bb gun.

I then looked at the red flashlight housing closer after it was unscrewed. There was a .22 lr bullet in it and on the other end there was a plastic piece that was holding back steel bb’s inside the housing as well. I then realized that Kevin had made a pen type of gun which is considered and AOW or any other weapon which requires a tax stamp and registration. I also ran a criminal history on Kevin and he was convicted of felony Entering Auto on 11/27/2018.

The pen gun and bb gun were taken and placed into evidence. Kevin was transported to the jail. No pictures of the victims were taken due to there being no marks on them due to having gasoline thrown on them. Viewing Kevin’s RMS history it shows that he has been arrested 2 times for Battery (FVA). A case card was given.

Official statements were filled out and collected by the victim’s and Witness and scanned into RMS under the case number.
