On June 20, 2022 at approximately 1928 hours I, DS. H. Spradlin, conducted a traffic stop at Lower Fayetteville Road and Shenandoah Boulevard.

While traveling South on Shanendoah Boulevard I observed a black Chevrolet with no license plate on the vehicle, at which point I conducted a traffic stop. Upon activating my lights and sirens, the truck came to a stop at the intersection of Lower Fayetteville Road and Market Square Road. When approaching the vehicle I made contact with the registered owner, Mondrez Montgomery. While speaking with Montgomery he stated he had already gone through this issue just a few days prior. When asked what process, he stated he was pulled over three or four days prior to my stop, due to not having a license plate or any insurance on the vehicle, to which he was given a citation.

A check of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) I observed it had not been registered since March 4, 2021 and did not have up to date insurance either. Due to the previously stated facts, Mondrez was asked to exit the vehicle and was then handcuffed and arrested. Mondrez stated he wanted the $280 in his pocket to go to his cousin and the AR pistol, located in the passenger seat, to go to his mother who had arrived on scene.

Due to the vehicle having not been registered for approximately one year, there being no insurance on the vehicle, and Mondrez not having his seatbelt on at the time he was stopped, he was placed under arrest and given citations (Citation #’s: E0058506, E0058505, and E0058505) for the mentioned infractions. The vehicle was then impounded by A-Affordable Towing Services and I transported Mondrez to the Coweta County Jail, without any incident.

My department issued body worn camera was active throughout my investigation.
