On 02/28/2026 at 0002 I was dispatched to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Caroline Pl in reference to a Dispute Family. When I arrived I made visual on three individuals([REDACTED BY AGENCY], [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and Nathan Steverson) shouting at eachother.
As I got out of my patrol car and approached, I saw [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and Steverson square up as if to fight. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Steversons [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stood between the two to keep them from fighting. I grabbed Steverson and attempted to detain Steverson but he pulled away from me, obstructing me from detaining him. Eventually I placed Steverson in handcuffs, double locking and checking for proper fit.
During the search incident to arrest, I found a baggie with nine multicolored pills. I asked Steverson what they were, and he stated, “Ah those are pills, I`m going to jail for that” however he did not specify what they were. While speaking with Steverson, I noticed he had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and the smell of alcohol coming from his breath, indicating he was under the influence of alcohol and possibly another unknown substance.
While handling Steverson, Ofc Townsend, who was also on scene, noticed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] approach myself and Steverson as if to continue fighting. Townsend told [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to back away but [REDACTED BY AGENCY] continued forward. Ofc. Townsend would then take him to the ground. Ofc. Townsend would not charge [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and released him. I asked [REDACTED BY AGENCY] why [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and Steverson were fighting but I could not get a clear explanation as to why.
After searching Steverson I placed him in the back of my patrol car. Steverson was transported to the Coweta County Jail, and my patrol car was searched before and after transport. After booking Steverson, I tested the ecstasy pills with a methamphetamine field kit and confirmed that it was positive. The ecstasy pills were submitted to evidence and a GBI drug submission form was completed.
