On September 12, 2025 I, DS Ball, answered a call at 745 Poplar Rd (Piedmont Newnan) in reference to non-family dispute. The caller Mr. Robert Christie stated to 911 he was on the second floor of the hospital and advised 911 hospital staff were trying to kick him out. 911 advised in the notes the caller started ignoring the call taker and arguing with hospital security. The notes also advised he was using profane language with the security staff such as they were “gang banging” him. I arrived on scene to security escorting him out the main lobby through the main door.
I then observed him dumb out his cup and get into Lt. Constantine’s face of Piedmont Security. He then began cursing at him stating his officer put his fu*king hands on him. I also observed while this was occurring an elderly couple was walking into the hospital with a small child approximately 2 years old. Mr. Christie was then placed in handcuffs and detained for Disorderly Conduct. I then smelled a faint odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person and smelled a faint odor of an alcoholic beverage from his cup. I then escorted him to my vehicle and while placing him in my patrol car he kept staring at the security staff in an effort to intimidate them. He then observed my tattoo and began retorting remarks at me calling me a fu*king punk. He was then placed into the patrol car and I began to speak with security Lt. Constantine.
Lt. Constantine advised me security received a call that Mr. Christie was upstairs being belligerent towards staff and cursing. He advised they attempted to have a conversation with him to calm down and when he refused, they instructed him to leave which he refused stating they were not police. That was when he called 911 and once deputies were enroute he then agreed to leave the building. While being escorted out he continued to be belligerent with security cursing at them. They did advise he attempted to get into security’s face again that was when they grabbed him within their policy and escorted him out causing him to become belligerent with staff as I arrived on scene. They advised they wished Mr. Christie to be criminally trespassed at this time.
I then went back to Mr. Christie and asked him if he was willing to blow into a preliminary breath test to dispel suspicion, he was under the influence of alcohol to which he stated no. I then asked him had he consumed any alcohol today which he stated no. I then advised him he was under arrest for Disorderly Conduct and he was criminally trespassed from the hospital and to not return unless to seek medical care as a patient. I then escorted him to the jail and while enroute to the jail Mr. Christie continued to make remarks cursing at me and making remarks about my tattoos such as calling me a sissy motherfu*ker slurring his words.
Upon arrival at the jail Mr. Christie continued to act in a tumultuous manner calling me a f*got and attempting to instigate jail staff by stating if he didn’t have handcuffs on, he would defend himself from officers. After Mr. Christie was patted down and searched by jail staff, he was being escorted towards jail staff and due to the threat of when the handcuffs come off, I assisted jail staff with escorting him to isolation. While walking down the hallway he refused to walk stating we passed a restroom. I then hooked his left arm to assist escorting him into isolation and after the door was opened, he began kicking the isolation door causing me to trip and fall on top of him. Jail staff DO [REDACTED] and DO [REDACTED] then assisted placing him on his stomach and when we slid him forward into the cell, he accidently stuck his head on the wall. He was then checked my jail staff and was cleared by the jail nurses.
He was then turned over to jail staff without further incident and he was charged with Disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and Obstruction.
[End of Narrative]
