On 03/05/2025 at approximately 1823 hours I, DS Daniel responded to a family dispute at the Red Carpet Inn & suites located at 1455 HWY 29 South. The reporting party [WITNESS #1] stated that a female (Susana Roman) came inside of the hotel stated that she was trying to get away from a male.
The caller also stated that the female went back to the vehicle and grab an axe out of her trunk and started swinging it around.
Upon arrival, I met with the victim [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that his wife (Susana Roman) picked him up from M Food mart on HWY 16. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that they got into an argument inside of the parking lot at the gas station, that when Susana pulled out a firearm and pointed it at his head. After the argument, Susan ran into the gas station into the bathroom.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated after the incident, Susana drove him to the Red Carpet to drop him off. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] then stated that he did not want to get out of the vehicle at that time, that’s when Susana ran into the hotel then came back and went to the trunk of the vehicle and grab an axe and started swinging it. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that he feared for his life.
I then went over to Susana to question her about the incident. Susana stated that she did not want [REDACTED BY AGENCY] around her. When asking Susana about the firearm, Susana stated that she did not have a weapon inside of the vehicle and that the weapon is at her resident.
I then went inside of the hotel to asked the front desk lady [WITNESS #1] to see the footage of the video. [WITNESS #1] stated that she would have to call her boss to send her the live footage. [WITNESS #1] boss finally sent the video and I was able to review the footage.
In the video you could see [SUSANA] standing outside of the vehicle yelling and trying to pull a black trash bag that contain [REDACTED BY AGENCY] clothing out of his hands. She then ran into the hotel, ran back out to the vehicle and grab an axe out of the trunk then went to the passenger side of the vehicle where [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was located at, handled the axes in both hands and was acting like she was going to hit [REDACTED BY AGENCY] with it.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that after the argument, Susana ran into the store and that’s where he thinks Susana left the firearm. Deputy Smallwood and Deputy Wallis went over to M Food mart on Hwy 16 to try to locate the firearm. They were able to locate the firearm (Ruger SEC 9MM #384-13517) inside of the bathroom trashcan wrapped up in a beanie.
After the firearm was located, Susana confessed to Deputy Ibanez that she did have a firearm at the time of the incident at the gas station. At first Susana stated that she did not have a firearm on her person but after finding the firearm, she finally told us the truth.
[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that when Susana was holding the axe in both hands, he felt threatened and that he though she was going to strike him with the axe.
