On January 28, 2024 at 0955hrs, I, Ofc McKenzie, responded to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Lovelace St in reference to a gun shot/stand wound call for service received by 911.

When I arrived on scene, I observed two females on the front porch, and one of them advised that someone was shot upstairs. Ofc Hull and I conducted a security sweep of the residence, and upstairs in the bedroom to the right we located a black male lying face down on the floor. Ofc Hull observed blood on his right hand. We began checking his body for injuries, and we located a gun shot wound to his [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. We ensured that there were no weapons in proximity to the victim, and EMS entered the room to preform medical treatment.

Ofc Hull located suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, and a scale in a orange bag lying on the bed beside the victim. I located the victim’s ID, and I was able to identify him as [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Ofc Hull and I asked him if he knew who shot him, and all he could advise is that he was blind. EMS removed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] from the residence, and they transported him to [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

We detained all subjects on scene for investigation purposes, and I identified them as Terry Long, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. While walking through the residence, no firearms were observed. Detective Sgt. Howard arrived on scene, and she began processing the crime scene. We contained all subjects on scene in the living room of the residence.

I transported [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to the Newnan Police Department to be interviewed about the incident. I conducted a terry frisk of [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to ensure that he did not have any weapons prior to transport. All other subjects on scene were transported to the Police Department by assisting officers on scene. I transferred custody of [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to Ofc Worth at the Newnan Police Department.

This incident was turned over to Detective D. Howard.
