On 2/22/26 I, DS I Gillespie 090, responded to a report of a family dispute. The caller/victim, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], reported that he had an argument with his wife’s son, Wyatt Everett (offender). Upon arrival contact was made with the parties on scene, who were separated. An investigation was initiated.

I spoke to Wyatt Everett (offender). He told me he was having an argument in his room with his girlfriend, [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. His mother came into his room and told him that because they were yelling, it was time to take [REDACTED BY AGENCY] home. Offender began to yell at his mother [WITNESS #1], saying that she shouldn’t be in his room and she needed to mind her business. Regardless, he and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] went outside and began to get into his mother’s jeep, where he was confronted by his mother’s boyfriend, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], a male with whom he co-habitates.

He says [REDACTED BY AGENCY] began yelling at him, tried to grab his shirt, closed his hand into a fist and acted like he was about to strike him. Offender says he squared up and prepared to fight, but waited for [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to throw the first punch which never came. He and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] yelled profanities at eachother for several minutes. He says that no physical contact was ever made.

He began to walk off in the direction of his father’s house, which is down the road. He turned around and came back, to find [REDACTED BY AGENCY] locked the front door. He punched the door several times, and screamed profanities at [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. The door’s lock failed, and he entered the house, went to his room, and walked back outside, where he was waiting when I made contact with him.

Offender had broken skin on the knuckles of fingers of his right hand. He says he believes this is from punching the door. I asked if he ever presented brass knuckles to [REDACTED BY AGENCY], because this was something reported to 911. He says he did not – he owns brass knuckles but didn’t have them with him when this occurred. While speaking to the offender, I detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath.

I spoke to Ms [WITNESS #1]. She confirms that her son yelled at her about coming into his room, and that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] confronted him about his behavior. She says she never saw any weapon presented, nor does she have knowledge of threats being made. Before speaking to Ms [WITNESS #1], I heard the offender make a comment to the effect of: if he’s arrested, he’s never coming back to her house. This indicates to me that the offender suspects something he did may result in his arrest.

I spoke to [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. He told me that he heard the offender yelling at Ms [WITNESS #1]. This angered him, because he doesn’t believe Ms [WITNESS #1] should have to tolerate her son yelling at her. As everyone went out to the car to prepare to take [REDACTED BY AGENCY] home, he says he confronted the offender about his behavior outside. Their conversation became heated, and he say the offender reached into his pocket, pulled out a set of brass knuckles, and assumed a boxer’s stance.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] says that, in response to being threatened by a weapon, he grabbed the front of offender’s shirt, drew back a fist with his other hand, and then shoved the offender to the ground instead of striking him. He says that he didn’t want to strike his wife’s son, but he wouldn’t tolerate offender threatening him.

As the offender got back up, he told [REDACTED BY AGENCY] that he was going to kill him, and that he was going to his father’s house to get a gun. Offender began walking off, but returned a short time later and forced his way into their house. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] says this second confrontation was heated, but no threats or acts of physical violence occurred. He says he clearly observed the offender present a set up brass knuckles from his pocket.

I spoke to [REDACTED BY AGENCY], who was sitting in the rear of a SUV. She was crying, and visibly upset. She said offender began yelling at her when she told a friend of hers about a sexual assault that happened several years prior, involving a different male. She said it was a heated argument, but nobody ever made physical contact with the other person. Ms [WITNESS #1] overheard their argument, came into the room, and said it was time for [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to go.

Offender began to yell at her for coming into his room, and told her that she can’t tell him what to do and she needs to mind her own business. As they went outside and got into the car, she heard [REDACTED BY AGENCY] confront the offender. She says she was seated couldn’t clearly see what was happening, but she heard offender say he was going to get a gun and kill [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

As I was on scene conducting my investigation, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] parents arrived to collect her. I spoke with her mother, [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. She said she was on the phone with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and she heard the offender say he was going to kill [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

I asked the offender why he threatened to get a gun from his father house, and he says he never made any statements like this. I informed him that 3 people all heard him make such a threat, and he suggested that it’s because they don’t like him. He alleges that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] is the primary aggressor, because he threatened him first.

There was no independent witness who observed the physical confrontation between [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and the offender in any great detail. Neither Ms [WITNESS #1] nor [REDACTED BY AGENCY] could definitively say who appeared to initiate the confrontation, nor whether the offender was armed with a set of brass knuckles.

Based on the information provided by witnesses, I placed Wyatt Everett under arrest for terroristic threats, for threatening to commit a crime of violence that suggested the death of the victim, and for disorderly conduct, for striking the door and using profane language in the presence of other people.

He was handcuffed in the rear, checked for fit, double locked, and searched incident to arrest. I secured him in my patrol vehicle, and transported him to the Coweta County jail at the conclusion of my investigation.

Ms [WITNESS #1] consented to a search of the property. I did not locate any brass knuckles.

Wyatt Everett’s injuries were photographed.
