On Friday, October 31, 2025 at approximately 1737 hours, Sergeant Roddrick Murphy, Deputy Tylor Millender, and Deptuy Ty Levens, responded to [500 BLOCK] Cox Ave. in reference to an unwanted person. Upon arrival, Deputies made contact with Edith Anderson and [VICTIM #1].
Sgt. Murphy spoke with [VICTIM #1] who stated that Eddith, who has also been trespassed from him property, was causing a disturbance and threaten to burn his residence down. [VICTIM #1] stated that he never allowed Edith back onto his property since she was trespassed. [VICTIM #1] stated that he was worried that she would set his house on fire because she told him prior to deputies arriving that she would.
Sgt. Murphy went and spoke to Edith who was standing by with Dep. Levens and Dep. Millender in the roadway. Edith was asked if she threatened to burn down the porperty of [VICTIM #1] and she stated that she did not. Edith was also constantly yelling extremely loud and was advised by all deputies on scene several times to keep her voice down as she was causing a disturbance by yelling and screaming curse words towards [VICTIM #1]. Edith continued to yell despite the numerous warnings given by deputies and while she was yelling she said “ima burn that fu*ker to the ground”. Edith was asked to repeat herself and she would not.
Edith was placed in handcuffs by Sgt. Murphy and escorted to his patrol vehicle. Edith was then transported to the Decatur County Sheriff Office without further incident and custody of Edith was turned over to the jail staff. Edith is being charged with Terroristic Threats and Acts (Misd.) and Disorderly Conduct. Sgt. Murphy will apply for warrants and update this report.
