On Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at approximately 2005 hrs, Deputy Jeff Riggins responded to the area of [100 BLOCK] Helen Avenue in reference to a report of shots fired. Dispatch advised the complainant stated someone had shot at a group of people and was fleeing towards Grady County. Upon arrival, Deputy Riggins made contact with [VICTIM #1] in reference to the incident
[VICTIM #1] stated her family was gathered in a yard at the intersection of Virgina Lane and Helen Avenue. [VICTIM #1] stated an argument started between Steven Marshall and the rest of the family. Steven began bad mouthing the family and [VICTIM #1] stated she cussed Steven out. Steven had been drinking at the scene according to [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] stated her sister, [REDACTED], got Steven into their vehicle, a Grey Ford Explorer between 2012 and 2015 model. Steven left the area before Law Enforcement arrived in the area. [VICTIM #1] stated no one was struck by the rounds and she was not able to really tell where Steven was pointing while he was firing the gun
[VICTIM #1] stated [REDACTED] stopped in front of [100 BLOCK] Helen Ln and [VICTIM #1] could hear [REDACTED] telling Steven to let the incident go and put the gun away. [VICTIM #1] stated Steven began firing rounds causing everyone to take cover. [VICTIM #1] stated [REDACTED] then drove away from the scene and headed towards Grady County. [VICTIM #1] stated Steven and [REDACTED] lived in Valdosta, Ga.
Deputies located several spent 9mm rounds in front of [100 BLOCK] Helen Ave where Steven was reported to be standing. Investigator Charles King processed the scene and collected the shell casings found. None of the other Family members wanted to speak with Deputies about the incident
