DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. – A 22-year-old man received a life sentence on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, in connection with a deadly 2022 shooting over loud music. A jury found Sincere Rush guilty on Thursday, June 13, 2024, of felony murder, malice murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony for the shooting death of 51-year-old Marcus Bradford.
Officials revealed that Rush allegedly shot Bradford outside a rooming (or multi-tenant) house near Gresham Park in Atlanta on November 28, 2022.
Witnesses said they observed the men verbally arguing at approximately 9:50 PM over loud music emanating from Bradford’s car. They explained that Bradford’s vehicle was parked in the carport of the Clifton Church Road home.
Prosecutors presented security video footage captured from the carport showing Rush approaching unarmed Bradford with a gun and shooting him in the torso. Officials later pronounced him deceased, and police detained and arrested Rush at the scene of the crime.
In a 911 call he placed at the time of the shooting and during his trial, Rush said that he fired his weapon in self-defense because he claimed Bradford approached him in an aggressive and threatening manner.
Superior Court Judge Tangela Barrie sentenced him to life in prison plus five years on suspension. This case is pending.
