DOUGHERTY COUNTY, Ga. – Authorities arrested a former Monroe Comprehensive High School cheerleading coach, Audrianna Danielle Cobb-Williams, on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, and charged her with two counts of sexual assault by a teacher/principal/assistant principal/other administrator. In August 2020, Cobb-Williams gained some fame when a rap video she, a co-worker, and a team of students starred in on YouTube reached viral status.
The video celebrating the return to school following the COVID-19 shutdown featured fellow teacher Callie Evans and was created by Jamel Overstreet. In 2020, the two women explained that the video’s goal was to inspire and uplift community members during the pandemic struggle.
According to her arrest warrants, Cobb-Williams faces the accusation of “engaging in sexually explicit conduct with another person whom she knows is a student enrolled at the school of which she is an employee.” The allegations include an incident on November 30, 2023, at Albany Strikers and an incident on December 2, 2023, at a Newton Road grocery store.
Both events allegedly involved a “possible inappropriate relationship” between a teacher and a senior at the school. Just days after the school district launched an investigation into the matter, officials placed Cobb-Williams on administrative leave on December 13, 2023, and she resigned from her position on December 15, 2023.
Dougherty County School System officials stated, “The Dougherty County Board of Education voted unanimously to accept the resignation of Audrianna Williams in lieu of termination, with the understanding that the district will submit the appropriate reports to the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.”
Records revealed that Cobb-Williams bonded out of jail hours after her arrest. This case is pending in court.
