I responded to 404 W Oglethorpe Blvd (Burger King) in reference to a kidnapping. Upon arrival, I made contact with a black female identified as [WITNESS #1]. [WITNESS #1] stated she witnessed a black male, later identified as Aleck Johnson Jr., attacking a female, later identified as [VICTIM #1], at 413 W Oglethorpe Blvd (Liberty Gas Station).
[WITNESS #1] reported that Johnson struck [VICTIM #1] several times in the face and dragged her to a 2007 Toyota RAV4 bearing Georgia tag [REDACTED]. [WITNESS #1] stated that [VICTIM #1] managed to exit the vehicle, at which point Johnson attempted to strike her with the vehicle. Johnson then continued to assault [VICTIM #1] by hitting and choking her before forcibly placing her back inside the vehicle and driving westbound on W Oglethorpe Blvd.
[WITNESS #1] photographed the suspect vehicle, which matched the vehicle known to be driven by Johnson.
Ptl. Rathel made contact with an employee at Liberty Gas Station who provided video footage of the incident. The video depicts Johnson striking [VICTIM #1] multiple times before lifting her into the front passenger seat. [VICTIM #1] can be seen opening the door several times from inside the vehicle, and Johnson is observed closing it forcefully each time. Johnson is then seen dragging [VICTIM #1] out of the vehicle, continuing to punch and choke her. He subsequently entered the vehicle and attempted to run [VICTIM #1] over. Johnson then picked [VICTIM #1] up and forcibly placed her back into the vehicle before fleeing the scene.
The Flock camera system showed the suspect vehicle traveling westbound on Gillionville Rd and Springfield Dr at approximately 11:15 AM. Cpl. Newberry and Sergeant Laethem later located Johnson at [1700 BLOCK] Eight Mile Road. Johnson was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Law Enforcement Center for investigation.
Cpl. Newberry then transported Johnson to the Dougherty County Jail.
[WITNESS #1] provided a written statement detailing her observations. Sergeant Dorminy was notified of the incident.
This case remains active and has been forwarded to investigations.
