On March 14, 2026 I (Ofc. J. Brown) responded in normal patrol mode to the 1100-BLK of W 3rd Ave in reference to an Auto Accident call for service.

Upon my arrival, I observed a maroon in color 2009 Honda Pilot (GA TAG [REDACTED]/VIN [REDACTED]) parked and blocking the southwest entrance of the Beauty Supply Depot (1001 N Slappey Blvd) parking lot. I observed the silver in color 2022 Ford F150 (GA TAG [REDACTED]/VIN [REDACTED]) in the parking lot of the [1100 BLOCK] W 3rd Ave residence. I also want to note that both vehicles were disabled; having damaged front driver’s side tires.

I made contact with the owner of the silver in color 2022 Ford F150 (later identified as [VICTIM #1]), who stated he was traveling west in the 1100-BLK of W 3rd Ave, when the Honda veered off into his lane, colliding into his driver’s side. [VICTIM #1] stated he observed the driver of the Honda (later identified as Chiqita Weston) exit the vehicle. [VICTIM #1] stated Chiqita advised him that she was going to her sister’s house on Baker Avenue, leave the scene, traveling south on Eugemar St.

I conducted a NCIC/GCIC search of all vehicles, yielding negative results. I conducted an additional search for warrants of all parties involved yielding positive results of the following:

-Chiqita Weston
-Probation violation
-Warrant #106372
-Issue date: 07/21/2025
-Commercial/non-commercial license, Suspended (no insurance conviction, second violation; violation dates: 12/7/2022 and suspension dates: 2/21/2023)

I contacted dispatch to send the next available non-preference wrecker service. Harris Towing Company responded and assumed responsibility of the silver in color Ford F150. Tony’s Towing and Wrecker Service responded and assumed responsibility of the maroon in color Honda Pilot. I collected a silver in color iPhone 17 and a black in color Android from the driver’s side floorboard to submit as evidence to the Albany Police Department.

After gathering more information, I was able to make contact with Chiqita via cellphone [REDACTED], who stated she was driving up W 3rd Ave. towards Slappey Blvd when [VICTIM #1] sideswiped her. Chiqita stated she exited her vehicle and left her sister’s house because it was cold. I asked Chiqita why she did not return to the accident, and she advised that she wanted to figure out exactly what was going on. Chiqita further stated she wanted to figure out what to do with her vehicle first before calling.

I advised Chiqita that she would receive a citation for hit &run and asked for her address, in which she complied. Cpl. Gutierrez and I traveled to [100 BLOCK] Foxtown Ct to make contact with Chiqita, yielding positive results. I also notified dispatch to advise Lee County Sheriff Officers to respond to the scene.

I observed that Chiqita had brown stains on the right side of her leg, and I noticed dirt or a brown substance on her hand. This is consistent with the broken strut or piece that was located in her rear passenger seat, leaking a brown fluid. Chiqita was placed in double-locked handcuffs at the rear of her back, escorted to the rear passenger door, and searched incident to arrest for weapons/contraband, yielding negative results. Chiqita was placed in my vehicle pending transportation to Dougherty County Jail (1302 Evelyn Ave).

I transported Chiqita to Dougherty County Jail, and during transportation, Chiqita did not utter anything during transportion. My department-issued firearm was stowed in the rear of my vehicle before escorting Chiqita inside the jail. Post transportation, a search for weapons/contraband was conducted of the rear of my vehicle, yielding negative results.

Chiqita received citations for the following:

-Hit/Run- Injury/Death/Damage (citation #G0063029)
-Suspended or Revoked Driver’s License (citation #G0063028)

This case is cleared by arrest.
