I, (Ptl. Q. Pinkins) responded in normal mode to [500 BLOCK] Cedar Ave in reference to family violence.
Upon my arrival, I observed a group of males and females subjects standing in the yard. I observed 2 female subjects, later identified as [VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2], in a verbal dispute with black male Darrion Redding in the front yard. While walking towards the herd of people, I began giving verbal commands for everyone to separate while displaying my Taser. A few moments later, I observed Ptl. S. Schultz take black male Xavier Edwards to the ground. I immediately engaged and assisted Edwards and Ptl. S. Schultz off the ground. Ptl. Schultz advised me he was injured. He stated his leg popped while taking Edwards to the grown. I advised Ptl. S. Schultz to be evaluated when EMS arrives on scene.
I made contact with [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] stated her daughter’s [VICTIM #2] child’s father (Darrion Redding) along with his friends came to her residence to get her grandchild. She stated Edwards and the male subjects exchanged words, in which he took his Security vest and weapon and put in the house. I asked [VICTIM #1] if there was an active custody agreement with the court, which she stated no. While talking to [VICTIM #1], she continued to argue back and forth with Redding. I told both parties to stop arguing. [VICTIM #1] stated Redding along with his friends threatened to shoot her residence up. She then walked on the front porch and pointed to a sign hanging up on the porch, which appeared to be bullet holes in it. I asked [VICTIM #1] if that happened today, which she stated yes. I checked the Flock Safety Raven Alert for gunshots in the area, which was met with negative results. I viewed the bullet holes, in which appeared to be old. I asked [VICTIM #1] if anything physical happen between anyone on scene, which she stated no.
I made contact with [VICTIM #2]. I asked [VICTIM #2] what occurred today (01.04.2025), which she stated her child’s father (Redding) came to her residence beating on her doors and windows. I asked [VICTIM #2] “why Redding would do this?” which she stated Redding is upset because she refused to let their child go back to his residence. [VICTIM #2] stated she allowed her child to visit Redding and his family during the holidays. She stated Friday (12.27.2024) her child returned home.
