I, Ptl. Schultz, responded in normal mode to 1737 Clark Ave (Love’s Truckstop) in reference to an unknown problem.
Upon arrival, I observed Ptl. Drake speaking with a B/M who identified himself as [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] stated that he was sitting at an unknown address (his friend’s house) inside of his vehicle with his friend, [VICTIM #2]. He advised that a young black male approached them and began asking for help getting home.
[VICTIM #1] stated that the male was carrying a backpack. The male then reached into his backpack. [VICTIM #1] then advised him to stop reaching into the backpack. [VICTIM #1] advised that the subject stated he was trying to get his ID. [VICTIM #1] advised that the subject began getting irate with him. [VICTIM #1] stated that he observed the male grab a gun out of his backpack and begin waving it around. [VICTIM #1] then fled the scene and made contact with a Love’s employee and told them to call police.
Ptl. Drake and I followed [VICTIM #1] to [800 BLOCK] Don Cutler Sr Dr (incident location). Upon arrival, I observed [VICTIM #2] standing next to the suspect, The suspect identified himself as Jamie Martin.
I observed a small black Handgun lying on the ground near Martin and [VICTIM #2]’s feet. I made the scene safe by moving [VICTIM #2] and Martin away from the firearm. [VICTIM #2], [VICTIM #1], and Martin all denied owning the firearm. Ptl. Drake cleared the firearm. Sgt. Paige did confirm this. The firearm was recovered. The handgun was a black in color Taurus G2S 9mm (ACD802524). [VICTIM #2] stated that he did not see Martin with a gun.
[VICTIM #2] stated that he was helping Martin find a ride to get home. He advised that Martin told him his friends left him at a party nearby. He would not advise where the party was at. While talking with [VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2], Martin continuously interupted my investigation by yelling and cussing at [VICTIM #2] and [VICTIM #1]. I told Martin numerous times to stop interupting. He continued to do so.
While contacting Sgt. Paige about the issue, Martin continued to argue with [VICTIM #2] and [VICTIM #1] as well as arguing with Ptl. Drake. I was forced to stop communicating with Sgt. Paige to gain control of Martin again due to him instigating another argument with Ptl. Drake and [VICTIM #2] by calling [VICTIM #2] and [VICTIM #1] “bit*h a*s nig*a” and telling myself and Ptl. Drake to “fu*k off’.
Martin was then placed in double locked handcuffs to the rear and escorted to Ptl. Drake’s vehicle. I searched him incident to arrest and placed him into the rear seat of her patrol vehicle. Ptl. Drake did transport him to the Dougherty County Jail.
Martin was booked on citation for Disorderly Conduct (BB002300) and Interference with city officer prohibited (BB002299). The recovered firearm was submitted into property management and submitted into locker number 4.
This case is cleared by arrest.
