On 01/19/2026, Ptl. Rivers and Ptl. J Floyd responded to [600 BLOCK] Mission Ct Apt [REDACTED] in normal patrol mode in reference to a criminal trespass.
Upon arrival, we made contact with two black females identified as [VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2] at [600 BLOCK] Mission Ct Apt [REDACTED]. [VICTIM #1] stated that she thought somebody was shooting at the house. [VICTIM #1] stated that she was in the kitchen working when she heard a gunshot. She stated she saw smoke and powder coming out of the ceiling.
[VICTIM #1] stated she went and got [VICTIM #2]. [VICTIM #2] stated she did not hear the gunshot. She stated she was in the room watching TV. We observed a bullet hole in the ceiling coming from Lunsford apartment into [VICTIM #2]’s apartment. We also observed a bullet hole in the wall. The bullet appeared to enter [VICTIM #2]’s apartment at angle.
We then made contact with three black male subjects sitting at the bottom of the steps outside. The three black males were identified as [REDACTED], Matdrick Coleman, and Kavaris Lansford. We asked them if they lived in apartment [REDACTED], which is ontop of [VICTIM #2]’s apartment, and Lunsford and Matdrick Coleman replied with yes.
Matdrick and Kavaris stated that they have not been home and had just got back to wash clothes. [REDACTED] stated that he had just pulled up to the aparment. Ptl. Rivers asked all three male subjects if they had a gun and they replied no.
Ptl. Rivers made contact with Sgt. Allen and informed her of the incident. Sgt Allen notified investigation so they could obtain a search warrant for Kavaris’ apartment. Ptl. Rivers and I detained all three black males and placed them in handcuffs double locked behind their back. We conducted a search of all three black males for contraband or any weapons with negative results. We placed them in the back of Pd. Rivers patrol car (18-199). Ptl. Smith arrived on scene and placed Kavaris in the back of her vehicle.
Investigator Watson, Price, and Wells arrived on scene. Ptl. Rivers, Investigator Price and I cleared the aparment to make sure no one else was in the home. The home was clear and we came back outside. Detective Clark arrived on the scene with the search warrant. Ptl. Smith stayed outside with the male subjects and the vehicles.
Pd. Rivers, Detective Clark, Watson, Price, Wells, and I went inside Apt [REDACTED] and searched the home. We conducted a search of the apartment. I searched the first bedroom on the right side of the apartment. I observed a black magazine on the floor and a drum magazine on the top shelf of the closet. Detective Clark collected the magazines. No gun was recovered during the search. Ptl. Rivers took photos of the bullet holes. [VICTIM #2] informed us that it would cost approximately $300 to repair the damage.
Ptl. Rivers, Ptl. Smith & I, transported Kavaris, [REDACTED], and Matdrick to the Investigation at the LEC. Ptl. Rivers conducted an NCIC/GCIC check on Kavaris, [REDACTED], and Matdrick for any active warrants with negative results. Detective Clark conducted his investigation. Matdrick was charged with Tampering With Evidence, and Kavaris was charged with Aggravated Assault. Ptl. Rivers and I transported Kavaris and Matdrick to Dougherty County Jail.
We placed our duty weapons inside the trunk of the patrol car (18-199). We escorted Matdrick Coleman and Lunsford inside of the jail and released them to the Dougherty County Jail staff. We searched the rear seat of my patrol vehicle for any weapons and contraband with negative results. We logged the photos into evidence locker #02 at the LEC.
This was cleared by arrest.
