On 10/02/2025 I (Ptl. C. Barrett) responded in normal patrol mode to [900 BLOCK] S Davis St. in reference to a Family Violence incident.
Upon arrival I made contact with the caller (Black female green top, green bottom 3 feet in height later identified as [VICTIM #1]) and her sister (white top, jeans 5’04 feet in height later identified as [WITNESS #1]).
[VICTIM #1] stated earlier today at approximately 1600 hours she and her mother (purple top, light blue pants 6 feet in height later identified as Lakeisha Jackson) got into a verbal altercation that developed into a physical altercation. [VICTIM #1] stated the incident began after she was notified by her child (Juvenile [REDACTED BY AGENCY] uninvolved) that an individual (later identified as [REDACTED]) she was having prior issues with was inside her residence. [VICTIM #1] stated when she arrived home she made contact with Lakeisha who stated [REDACTED] was not in the house and began to argue with her when she entered the residence and began checking the rooms.
[VICTIM #1] stated as she was searching through her home Lakeisha became irate and continued to fuss at her stating along the lines of “I can bring whoever I want” “you can’t tell me who I can and can’t invite to my house”….. escalating the argument. [VICTIM #1] stated while she was in the hallway she observed a flickering light coming from an opening in one of the bedroom doors to which she thought was [REDACTED].
[VICTIM #1] stated before she was able to check the room Lakeisha confronted her and got in her face. [VICTIM #1] stated the incident escalated into a physical altercation when Lakeisha tapped her face several times with her hand while fussing at her. [VICTIM #1] stated Lakeisha then punched her in the face inflicting a disfiguring injury by knocking out her left incisor tooth and causing a cut on her upper lip.
I observed and documented the injuries sustained by [VICTIM #1] with an active bleeding mouth and missing tooth which was also bleeding. [VICTIM #1] refused EMS.
[VICTIM #1] stated following the incident [WITNESS #1] entered the house and removed her from the situation to prevent it from escalating. [VICTIM #1] stated she was calling the cops and left the area shortly after.
[WITNESS #1] stated she did not observe the altercation but was initially arguing with Lakeisha over the situation while [VICTIM #1] entered the house. [WITNESS #1] stated back off from the argument until she heard the arguing escalate. [WITNESS #1] stated she entered the residence and removed [VICTIM #1] from the area after observing her injuries.
I attempted to make contact with Lakeisha with caution in reference to [REDACTED] previous history and presence of active warrants on the subject at [600 BLOCK] Zackery but was met with negative results.
Contact was made with Lakeisha later after [VICTIM #1] called dispatch requesting an escort to retrieve items from her residence. [VICTIM #1] granted access to her residence to which Lakeisha was observed inside. Lakiesha was detained and read her Miranda right to which she agreed to speak to provide her statement concerning today’s events.
Lakeisha stated the incident began after she returned home from picking up the laundry. Lakeisha stated she heard a knock at the front door and observed [VICTIM #1] who confronted her asking if her ex-boyfriend [REDACTED] was inside to which she stated he was not. Lakeisha stated [VICTIM #1] entered the house and began searching for [REDACTED] after being loud and yelling at her on the front porch.
Lakeisha stated she and [VICTIM #1] were in the hallway when [VICTIM #1] got in her face and “Mushed” her face back to which Lakeisha stated she pushed [VICTIM #1] away. Lakeisha stated [VICTIM #1] then came back to her and punched her in the face. Lakeisha stated [VICTIM #1] told her she was calling the police to which she replied “for what? What are you gonna call the police for?”. I did not observe any injuries on Lakeisha. Lakeisha stated she did not know what caused [VICTIM #1]’s injuries and denied punching her in the face.
Based on my observations (height disparity, sustained injuries/lack thereof) and statements made by Lakeisha and [VICTIM #1], Lakeisha was placed in double-locked handcuff at the rear and searched incident to arrest for weapons and contraband which was met with negative results. Lakeisha was placed in the rear passenger seat of my marked patrol vehicle (19-079), and transported to the Law Enforcement Center where she was questioned by investigations along with [VICTIM #1].
Lakeisha was placed in the rear passenger seat of my marked patrol vehicle (19-079), and transported to Dougherty County Jail (1302 Evelyn Avenue). Upon arrival, I secured my service weapon in the back of the patrol car and turned Lakeisha over to the jail In-take staff for further processing. Post-transportation my vehicle was checked for weapons and contraband and was met with negative results.
This incident is domestic in nature due to Lakeisha and [VICTIM #1] residing or formerly residing in the same household. NCIC/GCIC Status check for stolen/warrants was performed for all parties with negative results.
This case is cleared by Arrest.
