I (Ptl J Bryant) responded in normal mode to 417 W 3rd Ave in reference to a disorderly conduct.

Upon my arrival contact was made with Security Officer [WITNESS #1], who stated he witnessed a patient (Sherene Hope) kick a nurse [VICTIM #1]. [WITNESS #1] stated Hope was upset due to the hospital staff having to physically restrain her (Hope) to issue her (Hope) medication. [WITNESS #1] stated after the doctor injected Hope with the medication the staff released her and walked out the room. [WITNESS #1] stated as [VICTIM #1] was leaving out, Hope kicked her. [WITNESS #1] stated Phoebe nursing staff has discharged Hope, and also advised [VICTIM #1] was in the emergency room waiting to receive treatment for her injury.

I made contact with Hope and assisted her with gathering her belongings (Bra, soap, lotion, papers). Hope was escorted out to my patrol vehicle, where she was searched and placed in double locked handcuffs.

Contact was made with [VICTIM #1], who stated Hope got upset with her ([VICTIM #1]) due to her ([VICTIM #1]) instructing her (Hope) to stop kicking on the door. [VICTIM #1] stated since Hope contiuned to kick the door, she stood by the door so that she could stop. [VICTIM #1] stated Hope stated to her “I’m going to kick you when you move”. [VICTIM #1] stated due to Hope’s behavior she called security down to assist with issuing Hope’s medication. [VICTIM #1] stated Hope then requested to speak with the doctor at that time. [VICTIM #1] stated once Hope talked with the doctor she was still refusing to take her medication. [VICTIM #1] stated they then held Hope down so that the doctor could issue her medication. [VICTIM #1] stated during that time Hope kicked her in her left knee. [VICTIM #1] stated once Hope was injected with her shot all personel released her and attempted to walk out the room.

[VICTIM #1] stated as she turned to walk out the room, Hope kicked her in her right leg, which caused her to fall to the floor. [VICTIM #1] stated Hope told her she kicked her due to her switching up on her, and working for the white man. [VICTIM #1] stated Hope also told her “I told you, I was gone show you you’re not bad”. [VICTIM #1] stated she wasn’t sure if she received any bruses from this incident, due to her having on pants.

Conatct was made with Sherene Hope. After reading Hope her Miranda Warning she agreed to discuss this incident. Hope stated she kicked [VICTIM #1], due to her switching up on her. Hope also stated she felt as if she was being abused by the staff. Hope also stated she was suppose to have a cell phone in her property in which she didn’t.

I made contact with behavioral health nurse [WITNESS #2], who stated Hope never came in with a phone.

Hope was cited for disorderly conducted (BB002182), and placed in double locked handcuffs. Hope was searched incident to arrest then placed in the rear of my patrol vehicle (19-055), and transported to the Dougherty County Jail. Upon my arrival my duty weapon was secured in the truck of my patrol vehicle. Hope was released to the intake staff. Prior to leaving the jail a search for contraband was conducted in the rear of my patrol vehicle with negative results.

This case is cleared by arrest.
