On 10/30/25, Deputy responded to a Centegix alert in the 100 hall of the Effingham County High School (ECHS).

Upon arrival, School Administration was talking with the teacher to get information about the situation (Centegix Alert). School Administration asked for 3 students to come with her to the discipline office so that they could handle the situation. While in the hall, two of the students were waiting but the third student Dukes (Offender) came out of the classroom cursing out loud while walking away from the School Administration. School Administration asked for the offender to stop. I asked for the offender to stop but he did not and continued cursing and yelling.

I attempted to get the offender to calm down but offender continued to curse and yell. I got in front of the offender and attempted to get him to stop walking away. Offender continued to yell and curse. I redirected the offender in a corner to get him to calm down and stop trying to walk away. The offender then pushed or shoved me while cursing and yelling. I attempted to place the offender in handcuffs but he was resisting and not complying to lawful commands. Offender was placed in handcuffs in the hall. Once we got in the discipline office and the offender calmed down, the handcuffs were adjusted and double locked.

Offender was taken to the Effingham County Jail and charged with Obstruction of Law Enforcement Officer (16- 10-24) and Disorderly Conduct (16-11-39). Warrants are pending.
