On 7/7/2025 I was dispatched to the ECSO lobby to meet with a complainant who wished to file a report. Upon my arrival I met with [WITNESS #1], DOB: [REDACTED BY AGENCY]/1984, who informed me that she had been made aware earlier that day that her son had been attacked by two people at her mother’s house at [100 BLOCK] Chestnut Lane, Guyton, 31312.

[WITNESS #1] explained that her son, [VICTIM #1], DOB: [REDACTED BY AGENCY]/1998, had recently gone through a breakup and that he had been contacted by his ex, a Leanna Jeffers DOB: [REDACTED BY AGENCY]/1997, who allegedly told him that she wanted to meet with him and discuss their relationship.

According to [WITNESS #1], Jeffers arrived at the home on Chestnut Lane with another individual in her car who [VICTIM #1] was not expecting, Matthew Miller, DOB: [REDACTED BY AGENCY]/2002. Miller and Jeffers then allegedly exited Jeffers’ vehicle together and attacked [VICTIM #1] supposedly with the intent of stealing a handgun Jeffers knew [VICTIM #1] owned but was not on [VICTIM #1]’s person at the time of the attack. [WITNESS #1] claims that Miller was armed with a handgun of his own during the attack and “pistol whipped” [VICTIM #1] multiple times, causing a roughly 1 inch laceration to the back of [VICTIM #1]’s head which she provided a picture of. She also stated that she had several recordings of Jeffers apologizing for the attack and stating that she was forced into going through with it by Miller.

I then asked [WITNESS #1] where [VICTIM #1] was and was informed that he was at the Effingham County Hospital receiving treatment for the injury. I asked [WITNESS #1] if [VICTIM #1] would speak with me if I met him at the hospital and she said that he would as she had already convinced him to do so. I then thanked [WITNESS #1] for coming to make her report and departed the lobby to meet [VICTIM #1] at the hospital.

After meeting with [VICTIM #1] in the emergency waiting room I escorted him to a separate room so that he could tell me about the attack without other people in the waiting room overhearing the conversation. [VICTIM #1] reiterated all of the information provided by his mother and showed me the laceration on the back of his head.

[VICTIM #1] also added that he believed the attack was gang related as Jeffers and Miller repeatedly yelled “That’s on 7” at him, a phrase commonly associated with the Ghostface Gangsters and also told him that moving forward he would be “KOS” which stands for “Kill on Sight.” He also stated that he had several voice recordings from Jeffers who claimed she was sorry for attacking him, but [VICTIM #1] recounted that during the attack she was smiling and laughing at him, yelling things to the effect of “that’s what you fu*king get!”
