COWETA COUNTY, Ga. – On the evening of July 5, 2023, good Samaritans contacted the Newnan Police Department regarding a terrified young boy they found running from the Bullsboro Crossing subdivision. When officers arrived at the home, they noticed the child was covered in scars, marks, and other injuries and immediately contacted detectives to investigate.

The detectives noted that the boy’s injuries appeared consistent with severe long-term physical abuse and neglect. Later that day, authorities located his adoptive mother, Chloe Lyn Jackson-Jones, in Spalding County.

The suspect’s arrest warrant paperwork revealed horrendous details of the abuse allegations. Evidently, the child was locked in a room with no doorknobs for the past four years.

Law enforcement found shocking photographs on Jackson-Jones’ cellular phone depicting the frightened naked juvenile. Several photos showed the naked boy being slapped, punched, and kicked while tied up or restrained.

The investigation revealed that other children in the household were urged to take part in the abuse and told to lie to law enforcement.

Officers arrested Jackson-Jones on July 7, 2023, and charged her with first-degree child cruelty. Authorities revealed that they foresee additional charges against her in this ongoing investigation.
