FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. – Court documents revealed that on Monday, December 11, 2023, a 15-year-old male was indicted for strangling his mother to death. Zachary Phillips faces murder charges for killing 66-year-old Cindy Phillips in early October.
Authorities have not provided further details about the homicide. Cindy Phillips’ family said she was an esteemed Forsyth County Schools bus driver.
In a statement sent to Channel 2 Action News, Forsyth County Schools expressed, “Cindy Phillips worked in North Forsyth for our transportation department since 2018. She positively impacted the lives of many students and co-workers. We miss Cindy deeply.”
Phillips’ family stated in an online obituary, “Cindy loved life; she was an avid gardener. Cindy loved fishing, taking trips to the mountains, and absolutely loved adventures on Harley Davidson; no other motorcycle could compare, according to Cindy. Most of all, Cindy loved spending time with her family.”
