Rabun County (January 15, 2023) – Deputies from the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Days Inn in Clayton regarding a sexual assault. The victim explained that the suspect had purchased alcohol, and attempted to arrange a threesome with her and a male who worked at a nearby gas station, to which she refused, then had sex with her anyways. The girl stated that Miranda Sierra Reed told her she knew she was 15 but said, “You’ll be 16 soon; tonight, we’re going to look at it that you’re 18.”

The victim’s mother left work early when she learned about the incident and called law enforcement after Reed had messaged her, asking her not to involve the authorities.

The teenager told the officers Reed drank eight shots of alcohol and half of a glass of Jack Daniels, Fireball, and “some pink stuff.” When they asked her about her own level of intoxication, she said, “I was pretty far gone.” She could not recall if the male were in the room when the sexual acts occurred.

The victim explained that she and Reed worked at Waffle House, and her brother recently began providing Reed with rides to and from work. On this night, Reed had called out sick and invited the victim over because she “did not want to be alone” due to a fresh breakup.

After Reed attempted to purchase alcohol at one store and getting denied because she had two minors with her, she found success at another, and the group traveled to Reed’s residence at Jones Branch Apartments. She said that she and Reed had oral and digital (fingers) sex in her bedroom but did not use any foreign objects.

Photographs were taken of the victim’s messenger conversation on her phone with Reed, and a search warrant was issued and executed for her residence.

Reed was arrested for outstanding warrants on January 31 and charged with enticing a child for indecent purposes, aggravated child molestation, and felony sodomy. This case is currently pending in court.

[NARRATIVE #1 on January 15, 2023]

On 1/15/23 at approximately 0345 I, Rabun County Deputy Gabriel Myers, arrived at Days Inn in Clayton with Rabun County Corporal Dakota Dills in response to a reported sexual assault. Rabun County Deputy Steven Barnes arrived at the same time and we all spoke to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and her mother, [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] informed us that at approximately 0030 she had become aware of a sexual interaction between [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and Miranda Allgary, one of [REDACTED BY AGENCY]’s coworkers at Waffle House. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had then received messages on Facebook messenger at approximately 0300 from Miranda apologizing and asking her not to involve law enforcement.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that she was at work but left early to be with [REDACTED] and, after suspecting that Miranda was at the Circle S gas station across the street, decided to call law enforcement at that moment instead of waiting until later in the morning as she had originally planned. After [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had told us everything she invited us inside her hotel room to get further information on the incident from, [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] said that her brother, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (referred to as “[REDACTED BY AGENCY]”), had recently started providing rides to and from work for Miranda. Miranda had called out of work the night of 1/13/23 and told, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] that she “did not want to be alone” due to her experiencing a recent break-up. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] rode with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to pick Miranda up and they went to the Circle S.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that Miranda was attempting to arrange a “threesome” with her and someone that worked at the gas station (she said she thinks the man’s name was [REDACTED] but she was unsure), but [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had refused. Miranda had then attempted to buy alcohol but due to the presence of [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY], two minors, she was refused.

The group then went to the ABC package store, bought alcohol, and went back to Miranda’s residence at Jones Branch Apartments. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] claims she had 8 shots, a half glass of “Jack”, “Fireball”, and some “pink stuff”. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said that she then went into the single bedroom of the apartment with Miranda and “slept with her”.

When asked to elaborate, she stated that her and Miranda had “had sex” and it had been oral and digital (fingers). [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that no foreign objects were used. Miranda had reportedly told [REDACTED BY AGENCY] that she knew she was 15 but, “You’ll be 16 soon” and, “Tonight we’re going to look at it that you’re 18”. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] when asked what her level of intoxication was at that moment, said, “I was pretty far gone”.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] was also at the apartment at the time but [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said she was too intoxicated to remember if he had been in the room when the sexual contact with Miranda had occurod. Miranda had then wanted [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to drive them somewhere else but [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had objected, claiming that she knows when her brother is okay to drive and he was not at that moment.

Rabun County Sergeant Mark Carrells and Rabun County Investigator Brandon Hyer had arrived intermittently as we spoke to [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. They both spoke to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and consent was received to take custody of [REDACTED BY AGENCY]’s phone. Hyer arranged with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] for her and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to go to FAITH’s Power House later in the morning.

A witness statement from [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was filled out and retained by Hyer. Clothing was not available to be taken as evidence due to it reportedly being in [REDACTED BY AGENCY]’s truck at the time. A search warrant for Miranda’s residence was obtained and executed by Hyer. An image of the messenger interaction between [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and Miranda has been attached to this report.

The property sheet has also been attached.
