The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death that was called into the Macon-Bibb 911 Center at around 9:29a.m.
It was reported that a female victim was transported by personal vehicle from the 1200 block of Baker Drive to the Atrium Health Navicent, in reference to a gunshot wound. The female victim, 49-year-old Claudette June Brown, was pronounced deceased at the hospital. According to Deputy Coroner Luanne Stone, the next of kin has been notified.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation. Additional information will be released as soon as it becomes available.
