The following was taken from a press release distributed by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office on October 25, 2023:
Update #3: Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators arrests persons of interest in connection with recent commercial armed robberies.
On October 10, 2023, two businesses were involved in armed robberies. Nail Impressions located at 5580 Thomaston Road at 6:49 p.m., and Circle K located at 4700 Hartley Bridge Road, later that evening at 11:13 p.m. On October 11, 2023, two more businesses were involved in armed robberies. Angel Nail Spa, located at 5503 Brookhaven Road at 10:33 a.m., then Spa Nails located at 163 Tom Hill Sr. Boulevard at 11:08 a.m… The suspect described in these robberies was a masked armed black male driving a white Honda Accord.
The vehicle was spotted abandoned shortly afterwards at the intersection of Cowan and Bowman Street.
The owner of the vehicle was identified as twenty-nine-year-old Kelsi Meshel Brown of Macon. On October 11, 2023, after 4:00 p.m., Brown was transported from Investigations Headquarters to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center for False Statements.
On October 22, 2023, just after 3:00 p.m., Sunday afternoon, Investigators and Deputies apprehended a person of interest within the 500 block of Charles Street. The person of interest was identified as thirty-two-year-old Leon Devon Stapleton of Macon. Also apprehended alongside Stapleton, was Kelsi Meshel Brown. Brown and Stapleton were transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.
Kelsi Meshel Brown was charged with Armed Robbery. Leon Devon Stapleton was charged with Aggravated Assault, Armed Robbery, and Kidnapping. Stapleton is facing additional charges pending. Brown nor Stapleton have a bond.

Update #2: The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a commercial armed robbery suspect. The incident occurred on October 10, 2023, at 6:49p.m., at Nail impression, located at 5580 Thomaston Road.
The suspect is described as a black male. Wearing a black tee-shirt covering his face, a black jacket, black pants, and white sneakers. The suspect fled the area in a white Honda.

BIBB COUNTY, Ga. – Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a commercial armed robbery that took place just after 11:00 p.m. Tuesday night, at the Circle K, located at 4700 Hartley Bridge Road.
It was reported that a male subject entered the Circle K brandishing a firearm. He demanded money from the clerk. After taking an undisclosed amount of money he fled the store. No one was injured during this incident.
The suspect is described as wearing all dark clothing and a mask covering his face.
