Warning: The following report describes alleged violence against animals.

MURRAY COUNTY, Ga. – Authorities arrested a 40-year-old Chatsworth woman after finding malnourished dogs at her residence, including one suffering from burns on its skin due to prolonged urine exposure. A Murray County Sheriff’s deputy arrested and transported Courtney Danielle Quinton to jail, where she faces five counts of animal cruelty.

The deputy met with animal control at Quinton’s home on November 20, 2024, and noted smelling urine and feces immediately upon arrival. Quinton allowed the five dogs outside for examination, and the officers could smell the “urine ammonia” emanating from them and the residence.

The dogs, including a black German Shepard, appeared malnourished, and a brown Chihuahua was “covered in urine.” The animal control officer explained that the canine’s legs were burned from the urine.

Quinton stated that she had been caring for the dogs for two weeks. The animal control officer told her they now belonged to her as she was now the primary caretaker for the pets.

The officers noticed children living at the residence and notified DFCS regarding the living conditions. This case is pending.
