COBB COUNTY, Ga. – Authorities arrested a 26-year-old Mableton man for allegedly viciously attacking, beating, and raping a 74-year-old woman in front of her five-year-old granddaughter on Friday, December 13, 2024.

An arrest warrant indicated that Ahmad Laureik Rucker forced entry into the victim’s Mableton home at approximately 4:00 PM and struck her in the face multiple times, breaking her nose and causing bruising to her lip and eyes and breaking her shoulder before sexually assaulting her. She also sustained bruises all over her body.

The warrant says the victim’s 5-year-old granddaughter witnessed the assault.

Officials transported the injured grandmother to a nearby hospital. She informed law enforcement that the attacker was a stranger who she believed had chosen her residence “randomly.”

Rucker was detained and transported to the Cobb County Jail, where he remains in custody without bond.

He faces a myriad of charges, including aggravated battery of an elderly person, exploitation of a disabled/elderly person, false imprisonment, first-degree burglary, four counts of battery, rape, second-degree child cruelty, and two counts of aggravated sodomy.

This case is pending in court.
