PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. – A media release revealed that on Saturday, October 28, 2023, a 42-year-old Hiram man, Tyron Victor Lambert, forced entry into the home of his estranged wife, 37-year-old Jasmyn Victoria Lambert, on two separate occasions. Both times, he wielded a gun; the second break-in resulted in her death.
A visitor of the Topaz Drive residence in Dallas alerted authorities via Paulding E-911 just before midnight to report a home invasion and domestic dispute. The report indicated that Lambert forced his way into the home’s rear door, a domestic dispute occurred, and Lambert pointed a firearm, threatening several individuals inside.
He fled the scene when he learned someone reported the incident. Paulding deputies arrived, placed the residence on “zone patrol,” ordered a BOLO (Be On the LookOut) for Lambert and his vehicle, and began their investigation.
At approximately 7:00 AM, Paulding E-911 received a second report stating Lambert had returned, gained entry, and again brandished a gun. Deputies responded to the scene immediately; however, as they approached, they heard a gunshot.
They apprehended Lambert behind the home, attempting to flee on foot. Despite a brief struggle, deputies handcuffed, arrested, and transported him to the Paulding County Jail, where he remains without bond.
Jasmyn Lambert suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to the Wellstar Paulding Hospital. Sadly, she succumbed to her injuries, and medical staff pronounced her deceased.
Jail records revealed that Lambert faces the following eight preliminary charges:
- Malice murder and family violence murder (Felonies)
- Home invasion – burglary (Felony)
- Two counts of aggravated assault (Felonies)
- Criminal trespass (Misdemeanor)
- First-degree criminal property damage – family violence (Felony)
- Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime (Felony)
- Obstruction (Misdemeanor)
- Two counts of first-degree child cruelty – allowing a child to witness a felony/battery/family violence incident
Officials expect additional charges to be filed against Lambert as the investigation continues.
Jasmyn Lambert worked as a third-grade teacher at Still Elementary School in Cobb County.
School district officials stated, “It is with great sadness that we share the passing of one of our third-grade teachers. Jasmyn Lambert’s big smile was welcoming to all; her classroom couldn’t wait to see her every day. Our hearts go out to her family, friends, and the entire Still community who already miss her. Grief counselors are at school this week to support students and staff, and we do ask you to give our school family privacy during this time of grief.”
