FAYETTE COUNTY, Ga. – Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ 25-year-old daughter faced arrest on August 24, 2024, after being pulled over on Highway 74 in Tyrone at approximately 7:00 PM for reportedly violating the Hands-Free Law by driving while using a cell phone.
Arrest records revealed that while Kinaya Imani Willis told police she was utilizing her phone “due to her mother calling her related to her (Kinaya’s) pregnancy,” they quickly discovered that her license was suspended. She stated she did not know her license was revoked on May 13, 2024.
Her mother arrived, accompanied by Nathan Wade, to take possession of the Nissan Altima. Accusations of scandal arose when Fani Willis failed to disclose her financial and romantic relationship with Wade when appointing him as special prosecutor in the Trump case.
Officers transported Kinaya to the Fayette County Jail, where she was charged with misdemeanor driving with a suspended driver’s license. She was issued a warning for “unlawful use of a wireless device” and released on bond at 1:30 AM.
Her arraignment was scheduled for October 24, 2024, at the Tyrone Municipal Court. If convicted, she faces a minimum two-day jail sentence, a $500 fine, and a license suspension extension of six months.
Kinaya Willis is enrolled at Texas Southern University, and her mother, Fani Willis, has been leading the prosecution of the 2020 Georgia election interference case against Donald Trump.
The case accuses Trump of pressuring Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to “find 11,780 votes” in his favor.
This case is pending.
