Gilmer County– (September 11, 2022) – When police responded to 487 Southern Road regarding an assault in progress, they found a distraught woman sitting in her car, covered with a broken windshield, and bleeding from her hands, arms, and ankles.
The victim’s windshield had been smashed, and a large rock was resting on the steering column. There were several small rocks inside and on the victim’s car, as well as severe damage to the passenger side of her vehicle. Officers placed the victim in a patrol car while making sure the scene was safe and to investigate.
The victim explained to police that she had visited the residence to try and collect child support from her child’s father when he started yelling and cussing, saying that he didn’t have any money.
Upon the victim leaving the residence, she heard shouting from her child’s father and Pamela Bradburn, with whom he also shares a child. The victim turned around in a nearby driveway and returned to her child’s father’s residence. From the top of the driveway, the victim could see the two physically fighting as Bradburn was punching her child’s father in the face. The victim then called 9-1-1 to report what she was seeing.
Bradburn then saw the victim sitting at the top of the driveway, got into her 2012 Chevy Tahoe, and began ramming the victim’s car. After ramming the victim’s car at least three times, Bradburn got out of her vehicle and tried to open the victim’s passenger side door but was unsuccessful. Bradburn then began throwing rocks at and through the windshield of the victim’s car, in which the victim sat behind the wheel on the phone with 9-1-1.
The biggest of the rocks thrown weighed approximately 10-15 lbs and came to rest on the victim’s steering column after smashing through her windshield; the shattered glass caused superficial cuts to the victim.
The victim stated she thought Bradburn and her child’s father had returned to their residence. Police called for backup before approaching the home.
As backup officers arrived, they made their way to the residence and called out to Bradburn and her child’s father to exit the home. Bradburn appeared with a baby on her hip and stated she did not know where her child’s father was but that they could search the house. Officers looked through the residence, and the kid’s father was not located.
When police asked Bradburn what happened, she said that the victim had threatened her and her baby with a gun while they were on the porch and attempting to leave the residence, but the victim refused to let her back out.
Officers then returned to the victim for more questioning. When asked if she had pulled a gun on Bradburn or her baby, the victim stated that she did confront Bradburn several months before with a fake, pellet-style handgun for fear of the situation with Bradburn escalating. Upon searching the victim’s car, buried under several other items in the rear passenger seat, was a pellet-style handgun with no pellets present.
Police asked the victim where Bradburn’s baby had been during the incident, and the victim said she was not sure because she hadn’t left her vehicle but felt positive that she did hear the baby crying in the Tahoe during the assault. The victim was then released from the scene.
Police then called DFCS to tell them that Bradburn was going to be placed under arrest and that they needed someone to take custody of the baby. They advised they knew that the baby’s aunt could take it.
DFCS also stated that they have been trying to locate the whereabouts of the infant for nearly a month.
Officers went back into the residence to ask Bradburn to explain what happened once again, and Bradburn refused and acted as if she did not understand. Bradburn was then placed under arrest for the following charges: aggravated assault, aggressive driving, cruelty to children in the first degree, disorderly conduct, driving with suspended or revoked license, no insurance, reckless conduct, simple assault, and simple battery.
During transport to the Gilmer County Detention Center, Bradburn began to ask questions and talk about the incident. Bradburn asked about her charges and an officer explained all of her charges and why. After arriving at the jail, Bradburn stated that she attacked the victim for her pulling a gun on her and her baby three months before and when she saw her, she just went red. She stated that if she had been able to get through the windshield, she would have “beaten her ass and wanted to kill her.” She said that she could not get in the car to her and that if she had then it would have been different.
Bradburn laughed and stated, “I bet she doesn’t have insurance.” Police explained that the damage to her vehicle would be her fault and that the problem was that she (Ms. Bradburn) did not have insurance and that her insurance company would come after her. She laughed again and said, “You can’t get blood from a turnip!”
Bradburn was then turned over to detention staff without incident.

On September 11, 2022 at approximately 1040 hours, I, Cpl. Pim #553 with Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office responded code three (emergency lights and sirens) to [400 BLOCK] Southern Rd in reference to an assault in progress.
Upon my arrival, I located the complainant/victim in her vehicle sitting at the top of the driveway/at the edge of the roadway. The female identified as [VICTIM #1] was distraught, covered in glass and was visibly bleeding from ankles, hands and arms from the shattered windshield glass that was covering her. Ms. [VICTIM #1] was sitting in her 2014 Black Dodge Challenger bearing GA plate: [REDACTED]; the front windshield was smashed, a large rock was resting on the steering column of the vehicle, several small rocks were laying in and on the vehicle, and the front end had heavy damage on the passenger side. I asked Ms. [VICTIM #1] if she was able to exit the vehicle and I then placed her in the rear of my patrol unit #321 until I could ensure the scene was safe and determine what had taken place.
Ms. [VICTIM #1] explained that she had arrived at the residence to try and gather child support from [REDACTED]. When she did, he started yelling and cussing and told her that he did not have any money however, he would work it out. She stated that she then left the residence however, as she drove down the driveway she could hear screaming from what she believed to be [REDACTED] and Pamela Bradburn (AKA: Pamela Garland); who [REDACTED] also shares a child with. Ms. [VICTIM #1] states that she turned around in the nearest driveway and that she came back to the top of the driveway where she could see Mr. [REDACTED] and Ms. Bradburn physically fighting and that Ms. Bradburn was punching Mr. [REDACTED] in the face. Ms. [VICTIM #1] then called 911 and reported what she was witnessing.
However, Ms. Bradburn noticed that she was sitting at the top of the driveway and she got in her 2012 Chevy Tahoe bearing GA plate: [REDACTED] and drove her vehicle into Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s vehicle. After ramming the vehicle three times or more; Ms. Bradburn exited her vehicle and attempted to enter the passenger side door of Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s vehicle. Ms. Bradburn was unsuccessful and began throwing rocks at and through the windshield where Ms. [VICTIM #1] sat behind the steering wheel on an open line with Gilmer 911. The largest rock was approximately 10-15 pounds and when it went through the windshield it rested on the steering column and causing glass to shatter and cause superficial cuts on Ms. [VICTIM #1]. When I asked where the other parties were located she stated that Ms. Bradburn returned to the residence where she thought Mr. [REDACTED] was also located.
I notified Sgt. Perigo #517 that I would need his assistance. Deputy Stanley #547 and I waited for Sgt. Perigo to arrive. Upon Sgt. Perigo arriving, he moved Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s vehicle into the roadway and away from the driveway; to make access to the residence. I left Ms. [VICTIM #1] in the rear of my car at the end of the driveway while we made our way to the residence.
Once arriving at the residence, we called Ms. Bradburn and Mr. [REDACTED] from the residence. At which point, Ms. Bradburn exited the residence with the juvenile infant on her hip. Ms. Bradburn stated that she was unaware where Mr. [REDACTED] was and that we could check the residence. Sgt. Perigo and I searched the residence and were unable to locate Mr. [REDACTED].
I asked Ms. Bradburn to tell me what happened and all she would say was Ms. [VICTIM #1] pulled a gun on her and her baby when they were on the porch and was attempting to leave the residence and then refused to let her back up. I asked Ms. Bradburn if she or the baby needed medical attention or an ambulance and she stated that they were not injured.
Sgt. Perigo then stayed with Ms. Bradburn while I returned to the roadway with Ms. [VICTIM #1]. Ms. [VICTIM #1] was evaluated by Gilmer EMS and refused transport. Dillard’s Towing arrived on scene and loaded the vehicle out of the roadway. I completed an inventory of the vehicle.
I spoke with Ms. [VICTIM #1] as she completed a statement form. Ms. [VICTIM #1] was asked if she pulled a weapon on Ms. Bradburn and she stated that several months ago she did pull a fake pellet style weapon when she was in fear of the situation escalating with Ms. Bradburn. During the inventory of the vehicle, in the rear of the driver seat, deeply buried under other items was the pellet style handgun with no pellets/bb.
I asked Ms. [VICTIM #1] where the baby was during the incident and Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that she was not 100 percent due to her never exiting her vehicle however, she was pretty positive that she heard the baby crying in the Tahoe. Ms. [VICTIM #1] had someone come and pick her up from the roadway however, before leaving she was given a victim’s pamphlet and the case number.
I made contact with On-call DFCS and advised them of the situation and that I would be placing the mother (Ms. Bradburn) under arrest and that I would need a place for her baby to go. DFCS advised they had been looking for the baby for almost a month and that they knew the aunt was able to take the baby.
I then returned to the residence and spoke with Ms. Bradburn regarding the incident. I repeated explained to Ms. Bradburn that I needed her to paint me a picture of what took place and she refused to do so. She also stated that she was not sure where Mr. [REDACTED] had gone. I continued to ask Ms. Bradburn what had taken place and she acted as if she did not understand.
I then advised Ms. Bradburn to stand up and place her hands behind her back, placing her in cuffs, checking for fit and double locking. I advised her she was under arrest for Aggravated assault and to kiss her baby. I then escorted Ms. Bradburn to my patrol unit where she was searched incident to arrest and placed in the rear of my patrol unit.
I then made contact with Ms. Bradburn’s sister who agreed that she could come and get the baby. Upon her arrival, the baby was released to her and DFCS was notified.
I then transported Ms. Bradburn to the Gilmer County Detention Center. Ms. Bradburn began to ask questions and talk regarding the incident. I then read her Miranda Rights and she stated that she understood her rights. Ms. Bradburn asked about her charges and I explained all of her charges and why. After arriving at the jail, Ms. Bradburn stated that she attacked Ms. [VICTIM #1] due to her pulling a gun on her and her baby three months prior and when she saw her she just went red.
She stated that if she would have been able to get through the windshield then she would have beaten her a*s and that she wanted to kill her. She stated that she could not get in the car to her and that if she would have then it would have been different. She laughed and stated, “I bet she doesn’t have insurance”. I then explained that the damage to her vehicle would be her fault and that the problem is that she (Ms. Bradburn) does not have insurance and that her insurance company would come after her. She then laughed again and stated, “You can’t get blood from a turnip!”
I then turned her over to Detention staff without incident.
Sgt. Perigo completed the DFCS referral.
A victim notification was completed and Ms. [VICTIM #1] was given a pamphlet.
