GLYNN COUNTYA St. Simon’s man posted a video to Facebook on September 11 showing himself driving off the road to splash children as they were walking home from a Mellow Mushroom.

Bud Lee Glawson, 41, recorded himself laughing and narrating as he turned his vehicle around to splash the children.

He posted the video with a caption that included, “…I haven’t felt that good since I was a kid. My stomach still hurts [laughing emoticons].”

A friend of the family saw the video on Facebook and was concerned for the children’s safety. He informed a Glynn County Police officer and charges were later filed.

Glawson was booked into the Glynn County Jail on September 16 on charges of ‘Aggressive Driving,’ ‘Reckless Driving,’ and ‘Operating a Motor Vehicle while using a Wireless Communications Device.’

Glawson is listed as a Managing Member of Bud’s Water Sports, LLC, registered in Florida. He is also affiliated with Barry’s Beach Service of St. Simon’s Island.

On 09/13/2022 at 7:23 a.m. while exiting the Saint Simons Island Police Substation parking lot I was flagged down by an oncoming firefighter, [WITNESS #1]. [WITNESS #1] stated his friend/boss’s kids were involved in a prank that could have ended badly for them.

I asked [WITNESS #1] what happened and he showed me a video on Facebook that occurred on 09/11/2022 between 6:50 p.m. and 7:10 p.m. The video [WITNESS #1] showed was labeled,” I know this is bad they were dressed to the nines heading to dinner.. I haven’t felt that good since I was a kid. My stomach still hurts..”

I observed the following: A white male identified as Bud Gawson wearing a blue shirt with curly blonde hair smoking a cigarette. Bud appears to be driving south on Mallery Street passing Village Green on the left. Bud says he just made a u-turn. Bud then says, “I gotta do it,” several times as he laughs.

Bud then drives his vehicle towards three kids who are standing behind a puddle. Bud drives off the road into the puddle and splashes the kids. He then drives away laughing.

[WITNESS #1] said the incident had upset him so he notified the police for [WITNESS #2] and his kids. I then called [WITNESS #2].

[WITNESS #2] said on 09/11/2022 at around 6:40 p.m. he allowed his two children, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] walk home from Mellow Mushroom. [WITNESS #2] said [REDACTED BY AGENCY] also accompanied the two.

[WITNESS #2] said he received a phone call from [REDACTED BY AGENCY] shortly after he left Mellow Mushroom. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] told [WITNESS #2] that a pick up truck was chasing them. The driver of the pick up truck drove into a puddle next to them and was able to splash them using his vehicle.

The driver then made u-turn and again drove into a second puddle next to them. This time the driver was able to get the kids wet again.

I asked [WITNESS #2] if he had seen the video of the kids getting splashed on Facebook? [WITNESS #2] said he had seen the video of his kids and being splashed. He said he would like to press charges. I sent [WITNESS #2] a link from Evidence.com and asked he upload the Facebook video. I have uploaded my Axon body camera video file to Evidence.com. I have completed the involvement tabs and the vehicle tab. This report has been validated.
