MUSCOGEE COUNTY, Ga. – Columbus Police officers arrested a 61-year-old daycare worker after the Special Victims Unit investigated child abuse allegations at the University Avenue Childcare Network. Pamela Marie Cook submitted her resignation before the investigation was completed.
Officials explained that they investigated three cases of suspected abuse involving infants under 11 months old.
The police department posted, “Probable cause was established for criminal negligence in handling children at the Childcare Network location. The investigation supported criminal charges in two of the three cases.”
Cook was detained and booked into the Muscogee County Jail on Thursday, May 30, 2024, and charged with three counts of simple battery.
