FULTON COUNTY, Ga. – The Atlanta Police Department will be assisting The Atlanta Public Schools Police Department in investigating the February 14, 2024, shooting incident at Benjamin E. Mays High School. During this incident, four students sustained gunshot wounds.
The following statement has been provided by Atlanta Public Schools.
Shortly after dismissal, shots were fired from an unknown vehicle, striking four students at Benjamin E. Mays High School parking lot. Atlanta Public Schools Police Department and Atlanta Fire Rescue immediately responded to the situation, and all victims were transported to the hospital and confirmed to have non-life-threatening injuries.
No other students, faculty, or staff were injured. This matter continues to be under investigation.
