FULTON COUNTY, Ga. – A Fulton County father has been sentenced to three consecutive life sentences without parole, plus 20 years, after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting and impregnating his teenage daughter.
Christopher Hudson pleaded guilty Tuesday to seven counts, including rape and aggravated molestation, according to the Fulton County District Attorney’s office. Judge Eric Dunaway handed down the sentence.
Hudson entered his plea before testimonies began, according to the district attorney’s office.
According to court records, the investigation showed that starting in January 2022, Hudson sexually assaulted his then-14-year-old daughter multiple times a week while she was in his custody. He tried to justify his actions by telling her that in “archaic times,” fathers did that as a way to keep daughters “pure” and disciplined, the district attorney’s office said.
Hudson’s daughter suspected she may have been pregnant in April 2022, and in June 2022, she learned she was six months pregnant after getting her father to take her to a clinic, according to the district attorney’s office. She told her mother about the abuse and “was immediately taken to law enforcement,” the district attorney’s office said.
A criminal investigation was initiated, and the victim underwent a forensic interview, according to the district attorney’s office. At age 15, the daughter gave birth to a baby girl, and DNA tests confirmed Hudson as the father.
Hudson’s daughter has since graduated from high school and is currently taking classes in a pre-nursing program, according to the district attorney’s office.
District Attorney Fani Willis said in a statement: “This child was profoundly betrayed and brutalized by the very parent who should have protected her. Her resilience in the face of such devastating abuse is extraordinary, though no child should ever have to display that kind of strength.”
