CHATTOOGA COUNTY, Ga. – A Lyerly woman was arrested Aug. 5 on multiple charges related to child exploitation and bestiality, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
The GBI said Lillian Hughes, 32, is facing three counts of sexual exploitation of children and one count of bestiality. She is being held in the Chattooga County Jail.
Authorities said the investigation began in July after the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office received a tip about Hughes’ possible possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material online. The tip was referred to the GBI, which led to a search warrant at Hughes’ home and her arrest. The sheriff’s office assisted in the search and arrest.
No further details about the allegations have been released.
The GBI said the case is part of an ongoing effort by its Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which works to identify people trading child sexual abuse material, target online predators and prevent unsupervised contact with minors. The task force operates under the GBI’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit and is federally funded.
