Mueller is the owner of M3 Creative Studio in McDonough, under the parent name Michael Mueller Media, LLC.
According to an affidavit signed by Judge Amanda Flora, the alleged crime occurred on February 2nd, 2021 after Mueller had bought a state-of-the-art Sony a7S II digital camera online.
The device was ordered and paid for from Michigan Camera Inc. through the popular e-commerce site, Amazon.
Traveling over 1048 miles from Michigan to Georgia, the advanced digital camera was swiftly delivered to Mueller 7 days later.
However, just two days after the camera had been delivered to him, the accused reportedly complained that the camera was faulty.
Mueller subsequently requested a full refund from Michigan Camera Inc, owned and run by the victim in this case.
However, after granting the accused a full refund on February 11th, 2021, the Michigan business owner realized that the camera came back with a different serial number upon closer inspection.
The serial number on the camera sent out on February 2nd was 3403365. However, the one he received back from Mueller on February 9th came back with serial number 3411048.
The Michigan business owner then informed Mueller of the discrepancy, which the accused denied any knowledge of.
After filing a police report, the matter was transferred from the Suwannee Police Department to the Henry County Police Department in March of 2021.
While Mueller continues to refute the allegations, an investigation has found that he wilfully obtained the camera to intentionally deceive and deprive the Michigan business.
Mueller originally faced one felony count of theft by deception, and a warrant of arrest was issued. However, upon closer review of Georgia Law, the charge was lowered to a misdemeanor due to alledged theft being under $1,500 in value.
Mueller was booked into the Henry County Jail on December 30, 2021. It is unknown when he will appear in court for the charges leveled against him.
