The following was taken from a press release distributed by the Gwinnett County Police Department on February 21, 2024:
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. – The Gwinnett County Police Department is investigating the death of two individuals as a murder-suicide.
Shortly after 11:30 a.m., officers assigned to the East Precinct were dispatched to a home on Sterling Drive in unincorporated Lawrenceville for a welfare check. A family member called 911 because the individuals inside the home were not answering their phones. The family member does not reside in Gwinnett County.
When officers arrived, they could see at least one person on the ground inside the home. They made entry into the house and immediately called for an ambulance for two individuals. Officers cleared the residence, and FD confirmed that the two were deceased.
Detectives believe this is a domestic-related incident and is being investigated as a possible murder-suicide. The Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause and manner of death.
