GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. – A former probationary employee of the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office has been arrested on multiple felony charges involving crimes against children, authorities said.
Rylee Willis was taken into custody Thursday following an investigation by the Gwinnett County Police Department’s Special Victims Unit. Willis faces two counts of child molestation and two counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes, all felonies.
The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Friday that Willis is no longer employed by the agency. Officials said Willis had been an entry-level employee and was still within the department’s required two-year probationary period at the time of the alleged offenses.
Under sheriff’s office policy, both sworn and non-sworn employees must complete the probationary period before being granted permanent employment status.
“The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office holds its employees to the highest standards of professionalism and accountability,” the agency said in a statement. “When those standards are violated, appropriate action is taken.”
Authorities have not released details about the victims, the nature of the allegations, or when the alleged incidents occurred. Investigators said the case remains active and ongoing.
Anyone with information related to the investigation is urged to contact the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office by calling 770-619-6655 or submitting a tip through GwinnettCountySheriff.org.
