Gwinnett gang unit arrests 25 for murder, robbery, carjacking, assault in 210-count indictment

The following was taken from a press release distributed by the Gwinnett Police Department:

Gwinnett County (March 13, 2023) – A year-long investigation by the Gwinnett Police Gang Unit resulted in a 210-count indictment against 26 defendants. Additionally, 25 out of 26 defendants were arrested with the help of several units within the Gwinnett Police Department, the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office, Gwinnett Sherriff’s Office Fugitive Unit, United States Marshals Service, Dekalb County Police Department Gang Unit, Fulton County District Attorney’s Office, Dekalb County District Attorney’s Office, Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The last outstanding defendant, Khari Kelley (22-year-old male from Decatur) with an alias of RX Yano, has an active felony warrant in relation to this case. The whereabouts of Kelley are unknown. In August 2021, multiple shooting cases along Boggs Road in Duluth, Ga, led investigators to discover ongoing violence between “Blixtz” gang and “56 Gang”. On August 29, 2021, “56 Gang” members shot and killed Jeremiah Pretto (an 18-year-old male from Duluth). While investigating Pretto’s murder, numerous violent crimes were linked to the “56 Gang”. These included multiple armed robberies, carjackings, aggravated assaults, and more.

In December 2021, the case turned into a RICO investigation against the “56 Gang,” and numerous members were charged with even more violent cases. In addition, it was discovered that “56 Gang” was working with “Drug Rixh” gang, and several cases where members of both gangs were committing criminal gang activity have been charged.

On January 25, 2023, Ladavion Smith, aka Chicago (22-year-old male from Lawrenceville), and Cameron Hamilton, aka XG (18-year-old male from Clarkston), the top two leaders of “56 Gang” as well as Dalemonte Neshawn Stilley, aka Drug Rixh Hect (24-year-old male from Stone Mountain) and Zaion Sharif Martinez aka Drug Rixh Peso (27-year-old male from Stone Mountain), two of the highest ranking and founding members of “Drug Rixh” were indicted by a Gwinnett County Grand Jury along with 22 additional members of the “56 Gang” and “Drug Rixh” gang on Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization (RICO) charges.

The 210-count indictment includes violations of the RICO Act, violations of the Gang Act, Malice Murder, Felony Murder, multiple counts of Armed Robbery, multiple counts of Hijacking a Motor Vehicle, multiple counts of Aggravated Assault, Terroristic Threats, various firearms offenses, and more. The overt acts of racketeering in this indictment spanned across the Metro Atlanta area and were charged in jurisdictions as far as Carroll County.

Any violence and criminal street gang activity that harms our citizens’ and visitors’ safety and quality of life is unacceptable. Anyone who participates in acts of violence or criminal street gang activity will be arrested, charged, prosecuted, and held accountable for their actions. Additionally, we work diligently to provide the District Attorney’s office with cases that result in successful prosecutions. Any acts of violence or criminal gang activity will be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest in Gwinnett County.
