COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A man accused of sexually assaulting a minor at a Kennesaw apartment complex in December has been taken into custody and faces multiple felony charges.
Shakeithen Wallace was arrested Monday in Barrow County and later booked into the Cobb County Jail. According to records from the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office, he is charged with rape, aggravated child molestation, sodomy, enticing a child, and grooming a minor.
Investigators say the alleged assault took place Dec. 3 at the Revival on Main Apartments, located at 2825 South Main Street in Kennesaw. Arrest warrants indicate the victim was under the age of 16.
Authorities allege Wallace communicated with the girl through social media and phone conversations before persuading her to meet him at the apartment complex, where the alleged assault occurred.
The case has raised concerns among some Cobb County residents about online safety and the vulnerability of children interacting with strangers through social media platforms.
Wallace remains in custody at the Cobb County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional information may be released as the case progresses.
