WALKER COUNTY, Ga. – A Walker County man has been sentenced to 65 years in prison after being convicted of child molestation and secretly recording an underage girl in his bathroom over several years.
Michael Forker was convicted Dec. 3 on charges of child molestation, sexual exploitation of children, and five counts of invasion of privacy, according to the district attorney’s office.
The case began when the victim discovered a hidden camera in a bathroom at Forker’s home. She turned the device over to staff at her high school, prompting police to obtain a search warrant for Forker’s residence.
Officers found a locked room filled with computers and camera equipment. Investigators discovered an external hard drive containing hundreds of recordings captured over several years showing the girl using the restroom, according to authorities. The footage also showed Forker moving the camera himself.
Police also found an image of the victim’s face photoshopped onto the body of a naked adult, officials said.
During the trial, the girl testified that Forker molested her while he believed she was asleep.
Lookout Mountain Superior Court Chief Judge Brian House sentenced Forker to 65 years, with the first 58 years to be served in the Georgia Department of Corrections. The remaining time will be served on probation.
