Bibb County (November 21, 2022)- Deputies said a Macon man responsible for multiple armed robberies, including two carjackings, was arrested after seeking medical attention for a gunshot wound.

Shaundell Caldwell was arrested in connection with at least two aggravated robberies that occurred in November.

On November 21, a man called the police after he said a group of men robbed him at gunpoint as he left a Reliance Food Mart. The victim tried to run back into the store, but the clerk locked him out after seeing what was happening.

The man said the group wore black ski masks and took his wallet, $200, iPhone, and a silver Dodge Avenger.

Three hours later, deputies were called to an Econo Lodge where a Lyft driver said she was almost hit by the silver Avenger while arriving for the ride. She said a man jumped into the passenger side of the car and pulled a gun out, telling her to get out of the vehicle, while a woman on the driver’s side door pulled her from the vehicle and then jumped in to drive. Another woman jumped in the backseat.

Two months later, deputies were able to arrest Caldwell while he was seeking medical attention for an unrelated gunshot wound. He was charged with four counts of hijacking a motor vehicle, four counts of armed robbery, robbery, and aggravated assault.
