JASPER COUNTY, Ga. – A Georgia man accused of attempting to sell a teenage girl on the dark web for kidnapping and assault has been indicted on additional charges in Jasper and Monroe counties.

Kelly Garrett Ivey, who has been in the Jasper County Jail since 2023, now faces multiple new charges, including trafficking of persons for sexual servitude, sexual exploitation of children, and computer pornography, according to recently filed indictments.

According to reports, the victim’s mother said law enforcement arrived at her home in June of 2023 to inform her that an anonymous tipster had discovered her daughter’s name, image, and personal details posted on a dark web site called “Slave Bay.”

Investigators said Ivey was allegedly advertising the girl for sale. He stated for a price, he would share personal details about the teenage girl, including where she went to school, what car she drove, and other information to a potential buyer seeking to have her kidnapped and sexually assaulted. The ad remained online for four days before it was taken down.

According to sources, the victim’s mother said her family knew Ivey in passing from attending Rock Springs Church at the same time. She also said she and Ivey were Facebook friends, and that he allegedly used a family vacation photo from her Facebook page for the advertisement.

The new Jasper County indictment charges Ivey with one count of first-degree cruelty to children, two counts of trafficking persons for sexual servitude, and seven counts of criminal attempt to commit a felony.

According to the indictment, Ivey was communicating via the Telegram app with a man who identified himself as “Leonardo.”

The indictment reads:

“Asking the said Leonardo if he knew anyone who would kidnap and rape one of his friends, then identifying that friend as [the victim], providing a picture, her address, the vehicle she drove, and the church she attended and providing gas money to the said Leonardo, that the accused wanted her to be raped, that the accused wanted the rape to be recorded and sent to him, and that maybe the said Leonardo knew somebody that would buy her for sex trafficking,”

In Monroe County, Ivey faces one count of computer pornography, three counts of criminal attempt to commit a felony, one count of obscene internet contact with a child, and 11 counts of sexual exploitation of children.

That indictment also reveals there were other alleged victims.

The indictment reads:

“The accused communicated with an individual with an Instagram user name ‘Soccermad00,’ and provided identifying information of [victim], a child under the age of 18, including providing a photograph and address of said child and offered to provide a plane ticket to Soccermad00 to fly to Macon, Georgia, to commit a rape of said child…”

Authorities say Ivey had a similar exchange with another child as well.

Ivey remains in custody as he awaits trial. No trial date has been set at this time.
