Carroll County (September 28, 2022) – Officers responded to an incident involving two female victims, a mother and daughter, after they called police advising them that a bullet had been shot through the daughter’s bedroom wall.

When police arrived on the scene, police discovered that the bullet had come through the wall upstairs from behind the television, struck the top right corner, and continued to the wall above the entrance/exit of the bedroom door. Officers could not find an exit hole for the bullet, meaning it was still inside the wall.

When speaking with the daughter, she informed police that she had been sitting on her bed, looking at her phone, with her earbuds in, when she heard something hit the wall. She looked up and saw smoke coming from a hole in her 32-inch Sanyo television. She got out of bed, ran to her mother’s room, and advised her what had happened. Both females returned to the daughter’s room to examine what happened and proceeded to call 911.

Police removed from the bullet from the wall and confirmed it was a 9-millimeter bullet. It was processed as evidence and pictures taken from the scene of the crime.

Jason Omari Green has been charged with Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, Possession of a Pistol or Revolver by a Person under 18, Reckless Conduct, and Criminal Damage to Property for the incident.

On September 10, 2022 at 21:36 hours, I, Officer North, was dispatched to [70 BLOCK] Industrial Boulevard Apartment [REDACTED] in reference to gunshot fired through a bedroom wall. I arrived on scene in my conspicuously marked patrol vehicle with working lights, sirens, and camera, and spoke with [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] advised someone had shot a bullet through her daughter, [WITNESS #1]’s, bedroom wall.

[VICTIM #1] and [WITNESS #1] escorted me upstairs to [WITNESS #1]’s bedroom, and advised me where the bullet hole in the wall was located. While looking around the room, I could see the bullet came inside the bedroom from behind the television, struck the top right corner of the television, and continued to the wall above the entrance/exit door of the bedroom. I looked outside of the bedroom to see if the bullet had continued but could not find an exit bullet hole on the opposite side of the wall, meaning the bullet was still in the wall.

I spoke with [WITNESS #1], who advised she was sitting on her bed, looking at her phone, with her earbuds in her ear, when she heard something hit the wall. [WITNESS #1] advised she looked up and saw smoke coming from a hole in her 32-inch Sanyo television. [WITNESS #1] advised she got out of the bed and ran to [VICTIM #1]’s room, and advised her on what happened. [WITNESS #1] advised she and [VICTIM #1] went back to her room, and saw the bullet hole in her wall and television. [WITNESS #1] advised her mom then called 911.

[VICTIM #1] estimated the 32-inch Sanyo television cost approximately $200.00. Sergeant Crawford and Corporal Shepherd arrived on scene, and were advised of the situation. Sergeant Crawford agreed the bullet was still in the wall above the entrance door of the bedroom. Sergeant Crawford called the courtesy officer at Hampton Court Apartments, Corporal Tolbert, and advised him of the situation. Sergeant Crawford advised Corporal Tolbert that he was going to dig inside of the wall to get the bullet out for evidence and requested he notify the management of the damage.

Sergeant Crawford was able to get the bullet out of the wall. I placed the suspected 9-millimeter bullet inside of an evidence bag and it was dropped into evidence with Villa Rica Receipt for Property VR-018852. Pictures were taken of the wall behind the television, the television, and the wall above the entrance/exit door, and are attached to this report in the “other images” tab. [VICTIM #1] was provided with a case card.
