Warning: The following story contains information regarding alleged sexual violence against children.

GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. – Brunswick police officers arrested a man on August 17, 2024, after receiving a report of him kissing a juvenile girl at the park. Bryan Gomez was charged with child molestation for allegedly grabbing the wrist of an 11-year-old girl and kissing her on the cheek.

A witness said the victim approached her in tears while she watched the children playing at Perry Park from the front of her residence. The victim told her a Hispanic man took hold of her wrist while she was standing by a tree with friends.

Gomez reportedly approached the group, asking for the victim’s name. After she supplied him with a fake name, he pulled her close to him, placed his other hand on her back, and kissed her right cheek.

The victim was afraid of the stranger, and her friend informed the suspect she was only 11 years old. Gomez responded, “Okay,” and returned to the basketball courts.

Once a translator arrived on the scene, officers detained Gomez and transported him to the Glynn County Detention Center without incident. This case is pending.
