The following was taken from a press release distributed by the Dunwoody Police Department on January 17, 2024:
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. – On January 17, 2024, at 9:24am Dunwoody Police officers responded to the above location about a missing person report. The mother of the victim had not heard from her daughter and asked officers to check on her.
Officers conducted a welfare check of the apartment and found a 24-year-old female deceased with a single gunshot wound. Further investigation revealed a potential suspect and vehicle.
A check of the Flock LPR system showed the suspect vehicle entered Wade Walker Park in Stone Mountain, GA the next morning around 6:30am. According to Flock LPR’s, the vehicle had not left since entering the park.
Detectives responded to the park and found the 24-year-old suspect deceased in the vehicle with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Dekalb County Police responded to the scene and conducted a separate death investigation.
