MACON, Ga. – Bibb County sheriff’s deputies charged a Macon man for an August 2022 murder after he was recently accused of assaulting a woman.

Elijiah Dwayne Gray reportedly grabbed a woman in her car on March 6 after becoming enraged that she was texting someone. He was also one of two suspects in the shooting death of Ronnie Albea, a Milledgeville man who died after he was shot in the parking lot of a Macon Walmart on August 5, 2022.

Gray and another suspect allegedly attempted a carjacking as Albea and a second victim were loading groceries into their car. When Albea pulled a knife to defend himself, he was shot. The suspects fled, and a warrant was issued later for Gray’s arrest. He was identified in the March incident when he reportedly grabbed and twisted a woman’s arm, threatened two female victims, and pulled a knife on a man who intervened.

Gray fled the scene but was arrested on April 25. He remains in the Bibb County Jail on charges of murder, terroristic threats and acts, and a probation violation.
