Marietta man arrested, charged with molesting 3-year-old child

COBB COUNTY, Ga. – Police in Cobb County have arrested a Marietta man accused of sexually abusing a 3-year-old child, according to an arrest warrant.

Dean Horace Griffiths, 45, was taken into custody on Jan. 12 and charged with aggravated child molestation and first-degree cruelty to children. He is currently being held in the Cobb County Jail, records show.

According to the warrant, the alleged abuse occurred over a three-day period between Dec. 27 and Dec. 29 at a home in the 800 block of Hampton Hill Drive in Marietta. Investigators said the child disclosed the abuse to officers “in great detail,” stating that Griffiths performed oral sex on her.

As a result of the allegations, the child was taken for a forensic medical examination and referred to counseling services, police said.

Authorities have not released details about the relationship between Griffiths and the child, and no additional information has been provided about what led investigators to the home or how the case was first reported.
